This pack of resources has been created to help you prepare for the IELTS Test in self-access mode, without the physical presence of a teacher to guide you along the way. The materials contained in this pack provide a series of short videos designed to present the strategies and techniques needed to tackle each part of the IELTS Test: listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. To accompany and contextualise the video presentations, you will also have a copy of the Key Skills course-book, which you will need to use for reference purposes since certain pages are referred to in the video. You should also work through the relevant sections of the course-book to help reinforce and extend the skills presented in each session. On completion of all the sessions and accompanying practice activities which reinforce the material presented in the videos, you should be able to reach your target score of IELTS Band 6.5, with each skill scoring not less than band 6.0.

The videos sessions are grouped according to skills, starting with the Writing Test, how to write a Task 1 report, then moving on to Reading, Speaking, Listening, and finally Writing a Task 2 essay, in that order. Most of the input focuses on the Writing Test, since that generally provides more of a challenge for most IELTS test-takers. You can work through this pack following the sequence presented in this pack, or you can select sessions according to your personal preference. You can, of course, review and repeat any video session which you need to.
